On Sunday, March 7, 2004, a memorial gathering was held to celebrate the life and times of Big Dave while he was at Moorpark College. "The Hill" was Dave's favorite work-out place and where everyone gathered. With about 80 friends, current and former teammates, and staff coming to share stories of Dave, a Blue and black cross with Dave's "#14" was placed at the top of the hill.

Teammates, coaches, trainers place a cross at the top of the hill and pay homage to Big Dave and his life.
