Moorpark College is located in the foothills between the cities of Simi Valley and Moorpark. It is nestled on 134 acres. The college has been serving the citizens of the Ventura County since it opened in 1967 with a current enrollment of approximately 11,000 students.

Students at Moorpark College are offered varied instructional programs in more than 100 transfer and vocational areas. The college has been nationally recognized for its innovative work. It offers an intellectual and cultural experience designed to maximize the academic and creative activities of its student body. The college has committed itself to taking its programs into the local communities with courses now being offered in Conejo Valley, Simi Valley, and Moorpark.

Noted for its high level of academic excellence and active participation in community affairs, Moorpark College has been serving the community college educational needs of eastern Ventura County since its opening in September, 1967. Currently enrolling more than 10,000 students per semester, this comprehensive two year community college graduates some of the outstanding community college alumni in California.

Admission to Moorpark College is open to any high school graduate, anyone earning a high school proficiency certificate, or any adult eighteen years of age or older and capable of profiting from instruction.

High school juniors and seniors can attend under the High School Admissions Program, provided they have the signed permission of their school principal.

Moorpark College offers more than 1,200 courses in 107 majors and programs during the Fall and Spring semesters, and more than 250 classes in about 35 majors during the Summer semester.

Moorpark College offers lower division preparation in a wide variety of transfer majors for the Baccalaureate degree and additional programs which lead to designated Associate degrees and Certificates of Achievement.

Moorpark College also offers numerous Occupational Majors in areas geared to local and national employment needs and trends.

Moorpark College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, 3402 Mendocino Avenue, Santa Rosa, CA 95403, (707) 569-9177, an institutional accrediting body recognized by the Commission on Recognition of Postsecondary Accreditation and the U.S. Department of Education. Moorpark College's student body includes more than 10,000 men and women ranging in the age from 16 to more than 70 years, with most students between 18 and 30 years. Fifty-six percent are women and 44 percent are men, while sixty-six percent attend during the daytime and thirty-four percent in the evening. Thirty-four percent are full-time students (taking 12 or more units) and sixty-six percent are part-time. Minorities make up about 21 percent of the students. By geographic area more than 4,000 come from the Conejo Valley, 3,500 from Simi Valley, 1,000 from Moorpark, 800 from Camarillo, and 1,000 from Agoura/Calabasas, and the rest of Ventura County, San Fernando Valley, and other areas.
