Admission Process

Upon meeting the qualifying requirements and the Prerequisite Science courses with a "C" or better and an overall GPA of 2.5 or better, students may submit an application with a Nursing Counselor from September 1- October 15 and February 1 - March 15 of each year.

MATH M01 - Elementary Algebra	5 units
CHEM M12 - Intro to Chemistry	4 units
BIOL M01 or Bio M02A - General Biology	4 units
ANAT M01 - College Anatomy plus Lab	4 units
PHSO M01 – College Physiology plus Lab	4 units
MICR M01 - Principles of Microbiology	4 units
HS M16N - Basic Skills for the Nurse	0.5 units

*May be taken after application to the program but before entry to NSM01.

Before admission students will need a current CPR-C for Health Care Providers or CPR for Professional Rescuers. A criminal background check will be required as mandated by our affiliating hospitals. Moorpark College Health Sciences department will be unable to place students in a clinical setting if they have a positive criminal background check, therefore the student will not be able to complete the program of required courses. Required General Education courses must be also completed prior to the last semester of the ADN program to be eligible to take the Licensing Examination to become a RN. Be sure to check with your Counselor for those requirements.
