Services Available
As An EOPS Student, The following services are available to you:
- FINANCIAL AID-- All students in the EOPS Program
will be assessed for financial eligibility and may receive an EOPS Grant.
- TUTORING -- Tutoring is available in any area of study
in which you need help.
- EARLY REGISTRATION -- Priority Registration is available for all
EOPS students, in a effort to insure EOPS students successful
enrollment into their classes.
- EDUCATIONAL PLAN -- Every EOPS student will receive an academic
listing of classes they need to enroll in per semester in order
that they may have an overview of what classes are needed to
complete their academic program.
- ASSESSMENT -- Every EOPS student can receive a Study Skills
Evaluation or Learning Skills Assessment to identify academic
strengths and weaknesses.
- PEER ADVISEMENT -- Peer Advisors may be available to assist EOPS
students in applying for financial aid, arranging appropriate
times for classes, assisting in filling out transfer forms,
providing on-campus tours and peer support.
- EMERGENCY LOANS -- Book Loans and Emergency Loans are available
to EOPS students.
- JOB AND HOUSING PLACEMENT -- Job placement openings and a listing
of rentals are available.
- REFERRALS -- EOPS will help connect you with an appropriate campus
or county agency to further assist you.
- ORIENTATION -- EOPS offers Individual or Group orientation to
acquaint you with the total college life, financial aid and the
EOPS Program.
- TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION -- Bus schedules and car pool
coordination are available to you.
- SUMMER PROGRAM -- EOPS provides summer grants for students to
attend Summer School (only if funds are available).
- WORKSHOPS -- Medical, career and study skills workshops are
frequently scheduled during the school year to further your
experiences and knowledge.
- BILINGUAL ASSISTANCE -- EOPS provides support services in
meeting the needs of our bilingual students.
- READINESS PROGRAM -- Academic assistance designed to prepare
new students for college, includes orientation, tours of the
campus, assessment of student's skills and counseling, and
are available to each EOPS student prior to each semester.
- CAMPUS TOURS TO 4-YEAR COLLEGES OR UNIVERSITIES -- Campus Tours
may be scheduled throughout the school year to expose EOPS
students to 4-year colleges and universities.
- EOPS NEWSLETTER -- Up-to-date information on changes in the
program, planned activities, field trips, financial aid
information, lists of scholarships and information concerning
off-campus service-related agencies are provided periodically.
- EOPS GRANT -- Designed to assist eligible students to continue
their education. Grants range from $200-$850 per year. To apply,
you must complete a SAAC and an EOPS Form I application and be
a full-time student attending one of the California Community
Colleges.
- EOPS WORK STUDY -- Provides jobs for students who are eligible
for EOPS and who must earn part of their award. To apply, you
must complete the SAAC or FAF forms and the EOPS Form I
applications and be a full-time student attending one of the
California Community Colleges. If you are eligible, you may be
employed for as many as 20 hours a week.
- EOPS SCHOLARSHIPS -- Each year two outstanding Moorpark College
EOPS graduates are awarded an EOPS Scholarship.
