Eligibility
In order to qualify and be eligible for EOPS, a student must
meet the following conditions:
- Be a resident of California
- Be a full-time student
- Be eligible to receive a Board of Governors (A or B) Grant
- Be on AFDC/CalWorks/TANF or SSI or General Relief or
be eligible for Deceased/Disabled Veterans'
Dependent Fee Waiver, or
- If employed, last year's family income (2006) can not
exceed $30,000 for a family of four (add $5,100 for each additional dependent).
- Have not completed more than 70 units
- Be educationaliy disadvantaged by at least
one of the following criteria:
- High school G.P.A. below 2.50 or
- Been previously enrolled in remedial courses or
- Not eligible to enroll in Math 1 or
- Not eligible to enroll in Eng. 2 or
- Non high school graduate or
- Member of underrepresented group or
- From non-English speaking family or
- First generation college student
- The student must be making normal progress towards a goal,
certificate, or degree as determined by the college, with a
satisfactory average of "C" or better for each semester.
- Each EOPS student must regularly attend tutorial counseling
vocational orientation, and EOPS general meetings.
