C.A.R.E. Program

COOPERATIVE AGENCIES RESOURCES FOR EDUCATION (CARE) is a state funded program designed to assist single parents receiving Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC) with child care expenses while they pursue
a college education.


CARE SERVICES INCLUDE:

  • Educational and Personal counseling
  • Single parent workshops
  • Child care grant
  • Book and supply grant
  • Campus parking permit

TO QUALIFY FOR CARE YOU MUST BE:

  • A single parent with at least one child under the age of six
  • An AFDC recipient for at least one consecutive year
  • A full time student (12 or more units)
  • Apply for Financial Aid
  • Eligible for participation in the EOPS Program.

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR EOPS YOU MUST:

  • Be California resident
  • Be member of a low income family
  • Be a full time student (12 or more units)
  • Be disadvantaged by language, social and/or educational barriers
  • Have completed less than 70 units
