Men's Soccer ties with Oxnard. The ongoing stalemate between the Oxnard College and Moorpark College men's soccer teams continued Friday afternoon. Moorpark's Augie Cazarez canceled out the opener by Oxnard's Jonny Martinez as the Ventura County derby ended in a 1-1 draw for the third straight meeting. The first of two Western State Conference meetings between the two schools matched a Moorpark team alone atop the WSC standings after three matches against an Oxnard team defending its first outright conference title in program history. Ninety minutes later, after the teams split the spoils, Moorpark (7-2-2, 3-0-1) still sat alone in first place and Oxnard (4-5-1, 0-) was still searching for its first conference win. "We're developing into a team of fighters," said Moorpark coach Sean Roche. That was evident when Cazarez, five minutes after Martinez's pretty run and blast gave Oxnard a second-half lead, scrambled home a cross as the Condors defense argued the ball had rolled out of bounds. "The game was a battle," said Roche, "but they never quit."
